Free-state Delegate Convention, Lawrence. Article "Unity is Success." At the Free-state Convention at Lawrence, the delegates voted concerning whether or not to vote for state officers under the LeCompton Constitution. The article lists each delegate's vote. E/2/1.

Quindaro Chindowan. Paper shortage. Found in a news item. The Chindowan was out of printing paper, so it would bee impossible to publish the newspaper. The news item let the readers know of the shortage and that the paper was on the way. E/2/1.

Pro-slave Anti, Voting against a pro-slavery constitution. Found in a news item which pressed the voters to vote down the pro-slavery constitution and "sternly refuse to re-animate it by electing officers under it." E/1/4.

Free State Delegate Convention, Lawrence. Voting for state officers. Article entitled, "Free-State Convention at Lawrence." A mass meeting involving local delegates was called in Lawrence. Its purpose was "to consider the propriety of voting for state officers under the LeCompton Constitution on the 4th day in January, 1858," as stated in the article. E/2/1.
