An Associate in Applied Science Degree requires satisfactory completion of 60 credit hours and a C (2.00) cumulative grade-point average. Students must:

  1. complete two courses in English [Composition I ENGL 101 and Composition II ENGL 102 (in some cases, Technical Writing ENGL 206 may be substituted for Composition II ENGL 102)];
  2. complete one course in Speech; Public Speaking SPCH 151; or Interpersonal Communication SPCH 153 (see specific degree plan);
  3. complete 3 credit hours in the Social Sciences; check the General Education Core Curriculum for the specific courses available;
  4. complete 3 credit hours in the Humanities; check the General Education Core Curriculum for the specific courses available;
  5. complete 3 credit hours in Math or Science; Applied Math I ENGR 104 and Applied Calculus I ENGR 204 satisfy the Math requirements for those students completing the Engineering Technology Programs;
  6. complete the two-hour credit course HUDV 101 Strategies for Academic Excellence/Lifelong Learning (See exemptions); and
  7. complete 42 additional credit hours of course work.
